It is jut a bad idea all round really. If an unauthorised user connects to your network, they may visit illegal websites or commit illegal activity which will be traced back to you. You may also have some shared folders that you didn't know you had. These can generally be accessed by anyone on the network. If permissions on these folders are set to read/write then the unauthorised user may be able to delete any shared files.
