An animal with legs might be called a biped or a quadruped. An animal without legs can move in a two-anchor movement or in a lateral undulation movement.

There is no such thing as a cat without legs. There are cats that have less legs, due to accidents, and you can usually find those by asking around at your local animal shelter.
I don't think that any animal, as in mammal, have eight legs, but spiders do, though I don't think spiders are considered an animal, though I'm not an expert. The spider has eight legs and is considered an arachnid.

Insects are considered part of the animal kingdom, and an insect, by definition has six legs. They are, in fact, the largest single family of the animal kingdom.
The number of legs an animal has certainly does affect how that animal moves. If the animal has two legs they are limited in movement to what those two legs can do.

A human :- when its young it has two legs; when its old it has 3 legs because of an additional walking stick.. when its realy old it has 6 legs because of the walking stick with four feet or a walking stand with four legs; then it dies without any legs becaue it loses control and energy of its leg.... :) riddle eh?
