Is slayer a good metal band?

Basic metal is Metallica, thrash metal is Slayer metallica and by the way i hate kerrykings

They are okey, I guess. You'll just have to listen to them. They play like a little to the good old thrash metal, since they've been around for a while now.

By the meaning of best im going with talented, and i would have to say that dream theater is the best heavy metal band in the technical aspect. nah slayer hits you harder then them but they're both good I'd have to add: Dragonforce!

Slayer is a thrash metal band. Some of their songs are atheistic in nature. Some of their songs are satanic in nature. Some of there songs are even necrophiliac in nature. So I guess you could say they are an atheist thrash necrophiliac satanist band.

The biggest is Slayer but most any metal band is atheist... Maybe not as attacking of religion or satanic as Slayer but still... Other bands include like Kreator, Destruction, Motorhead, etc

SLAYER are definitely the best thrash metal band!!! also early metallica stuff is great, especially kill em all!!! the big four of thrash is considered to be metallica megadeth slayer and anthrax I myself think they are all good. slayer is probably my favorite out of them and then megadeth anthrax and last metallica each band is great in their own metal way! anthrax is horribly underated sadly and metallica lost their heaviness in the 90s, but megadeth and slayer newest albums ( world painted blood and endgame ) stick true to their old stuff for the most part. to start yourself with thrash you should probably get albums like master of puppets, rust in peace, reign in blood and maybe among the living sorry im ranting but i could just talk about metal forever oh well. try sodom too great German band! They were a Thrash Metal band (and the only one of the "Big Four" who actually played true Thrash Metal). Nowadays, they play some sort of hybrid mix which tends to wander sometime into nü-"metal" territory.

NO! that last comment made my day. first off metallica is not the first thrash band, listen to motorhead, venom ,and ESSPIECIALLY ANVIL'S METAL ON METAL. that's pretty thrashy. as for the greatest thrash metal band, that's a pretty hard question, but i'd go with Sodom, Kreator, and Slayer

They are a Christian Metal band. they are not metal they are metal-core there's a difference there is singing and not all screaming they are a very good band i recommend them

Black Sabbath.The second was Metallica which is now and was the greatest metal band. Much as I love Metallica, I don't think they were anywhere close to being the second ever metal band. Plus after Black Sabbath there was the new wave of british metal such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and more. Metallica and bands like Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth, started in the early to mid '80s.

Slayer is not a christian band, however it is interesting to note that lead singer Tom Araya is a member of the Catholic Church. but lyrically, they are far from christian.

It's all up to personal opinion. If you like Metal, have a listen. But if you don't, it's up to you. They are classed a metalcore band. If you like Metallica, Trivium, Slayer, and Pantera, then you will probably like Bullet for My Valentine; however, their style has evolved over the past couple of records, so be wary, but its all good stuff.
