== == They are all physical properties - they are measures of physical changes.
The key property of a physical change is that no intramolecular bonds are made or broken. Intra- meaning within, refers to intramolecular forces that hold a molecule to itself. So for example, a single molecule of the salt, sodium chloride (NaCl) is held together by intramolecular bonds. A grain of salt, for example, is comprised of many molecules of NaCl. When you boil, melt or freeze many molecules of NaCl, you are only changing how each molecule interacts with one another; you are not changing the molecular composition. These interactions depend on intermolecular bonds/forces.
Physical change affects only the intermolecular forces, also called Van Der Waals forces, between atoms and molecules (inter- meaning between).
"Intermolecular Forces are electrostatic forces of attraction that exist between an area of negative charge on one molecule and an area of positive charge on a second molecule." From strongest to weakest, these are: hydrogen bonding > dipole interactions> London Dispersion Forces.
Solubility may be expressed quantitatively (for example in g/100 mL). Consequently is a quantitative characteristic.
They Are Qualitative
Social Security numbers are quantitative and not qualitative. This is due to the fact that they are numerical in nature.
Certainly rt-PCR is qualitative and can also theoretically be quantitative. Anneal the RNA to get a 1:1 RNA to DNA copy, then proceed with quantitative PCR.
1. Qualitative: this girl is tall. 2. Quantitative: this girl has 1,75 m.
the terms odorless ad colorless are quantitative terms
There are two basic types of observation, quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative defines while qualitative data describes. Observations such as smell, taste, and appearance are all qualitative. As opposed to quantitive which is any observation (such as size, or weight) where a definitive value can be assigned.
qualitative
Qualitative 100% its that and not quantitative The variable is qualitative because it is an attribute characteristic.
qualitative = how good something is quantitative= how much of it there is
Date of birth is Qualitative, but age is Quantitative.
PH is a number, so it is quantitative.
