An excellent question! When I was growing up in the 1950's, I firmly expected to see Americans land men on the Moon during my lifetime. What I did NOT expect was that Americans would stop trying after only a couple of years. It has now been almost 40 years since the last men walked on the Moon. The next humans on the Moon will almost certainly land within the next 15 years - but are unlikely to speak English. Mandarin, more likely.
