Indoor air pollution :)
Both radon and asbestos are able to cause cancer if a person has sufficient exposure. And they are both made of matter. Beyond that, these two materials have no similarity at all.
Indoor air pollution
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that has had many commercial uses during the last century, so it can be found in many building materials and other objects. Excessive exposure through inhalation can result in asbestosis, lung cancer, or mesothelioma (another kind of cancer). Asbestos seems to produce cancer through the physical interaction of its fibrous structure with living cells. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas with no significant commercial application. Excessive exposure through inhalation can result in lung cancer. Radon produces cancer because it emits ionizing radiation which in turn produces cancer upon sufficient exposure.
Beside the Environmental Impact on the area, asbestos in generally 'Open Cast Mined', this will mean that potentially, the fibres could become airbourne relatively easily. I am sure that the companies who mine asbestos monitor the situation greatly but i wouldn't advise walking around an asbestos mine without great care.
Cells exposed to radon can undergo various adaptations to mitigate the stress caused by radon exposure. These adaptations include activating DNA repair mechanisms to fix any damage caused by radon-induced mutations, increasing antioxidant production to counteract reactive oxygen species generated by radon, and inducing apoptosis (programmed cell death) to eliminate heavily damaged cells. Additionally, cells may also activate cell cycle checkpoints to prevent the replication and division of genetically unstable cells.

Asbestos is a mineral, not a disease requiring a cure. Several diseases are caused by asbestos. There is no cure for asbestosis, a scaring of the lungs. But there are treatments that can alleviate is effects for a time. Lung cancer caused by asbestos is treated and "cured" the same way other lung cancers are - surgery, chemotherapy, hope. Mesothelioma, another cancer caused by asbestos, has no cure and no effective treatment.
Some causes of lung cancer are smoking, or inhaling harmful chemicals such as radon or asbestos.
Asbestos can cause:Pleural plaquesAsbestosisLung cancer andMesotheliomaAlthough each of these conditions can be caused by asbestos, one condition does not lead to another; each is independently caused by the presence of asbestos in the body.
If you work with asbestos you may get little wartlike bumps on your skin. This is caused by an asbestos fiber irritating the skin. It is not common form of dermatitis.
Mesothelioma can only be caused by asbestos exposure. It is a type of cancer that is specific to individuals who have inhaled or been exposed to asbestos in some way.
Asbestos can sometimes be left in place and there may be no need to remove it. If you do need to remove it, you need to consult a professional as fibers are released when asbestos is moved that are hazardous to health.
very bad
