You ask about a certain product, all I can say is that opinions differ on all products. Your coolant requirements depend on the operating temperature and the climate where you live. If you live in a place where there is frost or cold weather during part of the year, then you need an anti freeze coolant. This is because pure water can turn into ice in the cooling system and as water expands when it freezes, it may even break the engine block or cylinder head. Ethyl glycol mixed at 30 percent against water will prevent the coolant from freezing at temperatures as low as -17 degrees Celsius, and a 40% mix will protect your engine to -23 Celsius. If you live in a warm place where there is never frost, you don´t have to use anti freeze at all. Coolants have the purpose of heat transfer from the engine to the environment. The coolant should also have some chemicals that prevent rust forming inside the cooling system. Practically all commercial coolants have rust inhibitors. Some coolant producers state that their product lubricates the water pump. This is not true as modern water pumps do not require any kind of lubrication. Indeed, if the coolant comes in contact with the pump´s bearing, then the pump has already failed. Modern motorcycle water pumps have a sealed spindle bearing. There is some kind of a a pump housing, a pump seal and a pre-lubricated bearing that is designed to last for a long time. Coolants always tend to get dirty, especially in bikes with a few years on them. Change the coolant not less than once a year, or twice a year depending on how much you ride. Get a coolant with anti-freeze if you live in a cold place. Make sure the coolant has something to prevent rust and other negative chemical reactions which may occur over time.
