I would suggest not. I have recently started taking gabapentin and I found that taking it with milk or shortly before or after causes stomach pains and nausea.

No. Neurontin was developed as an anti-epileptic but is also used to treat neuropathic pain. Testing is currently underway to see if it can be effectively used to treat anxiety and bipolar disorders. Addendum to above answer by a different contributor: I am taking neurontin to quell anxiety created by benzodiazepine withdrawal. It is working wonders. Prior to taking the neurontin, I couldn't even leave the house, due to constant anxiety and panic attacks. Now, I take daily walks, do the shopping, take care of business. It is working wonders for me.
