No. Neurontin was developed as an anti-epileptic but is also used to treat neuropathic pain. Testing is currently underway to see if it can be effectively used to treat anxiety and bipolar disorders.

I am taking neurontin to quell anxiety created by benzodiazepine withdrawal. It is working wonders. Prior to taking the neurontin, I couldn't even leave the house, due to constant anxiety and panic attacks. Now, I take daily walks, do the shopping, take care of business. It is working wonders for me.
