'Radar' is a palindrome but 'moon' is not. A palindrome is a word that is spelled the same way forward and backward. 'Moon' does not fit this definition because spelling it backwards gives you 'noom'.

What do you know at this time about the existence of water on mars?

Radar data from Mars Express and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have revealed the presence of large quantities of water ice both at the poles (July 2005) and at mid-latitudes (November 2008). The Phoenix Mars Lander directly sampled water ice in shallow martian soil on July 31, 2008.

How does an airborne radar works?

Well Airborne RADAR works in similar manner as their Ground counterpart , the differences typically lies in mode of operations, processing software , physical size and functions .usually Airborne RADAR's , especially for those who's required to detect target that flies at low altitude uses Doppler measurements to differentiate between target and steady objects like grounds . It's also may have a "compensations" to correct tracking error caused by the carrier's own movement EDIT- It seems the previous answer is bit too complex for some people Air to Air airborne radar uses combinations of range ambiguous and Doppler ambiguous modes. High Pulse Repletion Frequency (HPRF) modes which are range ambiguous, to measure Doppler unambiguously. Low Pulse Repletion Frequency (LPRF)modes measure range unambiguously both of these modes still measure both Range and Doppler and resolve the ambiguous measurement using Chinese remainder theorem. This resolving of the ambiguous measurement uses different measurement parameters that are not related provide a measurement remaining that can be related to unfold Range or Doppler measurements. In between the HPRF and LPRF is the Medium Pulse Repetition Frequency Mode which are both Range and Doppler ambiguous. Repetition Rate of Pulses adaptation can be mixed together and sequenced. Some modes are have better properties then others for measuring particular targets or characteristic of some targets. The question of ambiguity, and therefore what defines a Pulse Repetition Frequency as High Medium or Low is dependent on the target characteristic and the range you wish to measure to.

Why did the alarms go off on The Eagle?

During the landing of Apollo 11, the eagle flashed up both a 1202 and a 1201 alarm. These alarms mean that the computer was being overloaded, and was deciding not to finish doing some of the less important tasks it was asked to do. They later found out that Buzz Aldrin had turned the rendezvous radar on just in case they had to abort the landing, so they could easily navigate back to the Command Module, Columbia. This was not in the procedure, therefore the alarms went off.

Did Apollo 10 face any problems?

Apollo 10 was the closest any Apollo spacecraft came to crashing and losing its crew.Apollo 10 was a May 1969 dress-rehearsal for the Apollo 11 landing in July, and as such astronauts Tom Stafford and Gene Cernan took the Lunar Module Snoopy down to within 8.4 miles of the Lunar surface before levelling off and ascending to rendezvous with John Young in the Command Module.A misunderstanding between Stafford and Cernan resulted in Stafford accidentally setting the Lunar Module radar to lock on the moon. Cernan had already re-set the radar to lock on to John Young in the Command Module but had failed to inform Stafford, who then leant back and flicked the same switch into the mode it had been in moments before. When the radar computer was activated it therefore flipped the Lunar Module onto its back and began powering it down toward the moon rather than upward toward the orbiting Command Module. Stafford and Cernan spent 10 seconds tumbling head over heels before realising their mistake and recalibrating the computer. Had the spinning lasted for a second longer it was later calculated Snoopy would certainly have crashed and killed both Cernan and Stafford.

What do the words race car and kayak have in common?

Kayak has more in common with a racecar than with a boat when you look at how each word is spelled backwards. 'Kayak' and 'racecar' are both palindromes - they are spelled the same way forward and backward. The same cannot be said for the word 'boat'.
