I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe that is located on the front of the engine in the area where the lower radiator hose connects to the water pump
it is above the differential, behind the gas tank. it is not easy to get to if you have big hands. i own a 87 supra 3.0L v6 turbo. If you open up the rear hatch underneath your carpet where your spare tire is you'll see a oval shaped steel plate held on by 3 Phillips screws if you remove the plate you should have access to the pump from there.
On a Ford 4.0 liter V6 engine : The 4.0 liter EFI engine is the Over Head Valve / pushrod design engine ( the 8th " character " of the VIN is an " X " ) For the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 engine ( the 8th " character " of the VIN is an " E " ) * or " K " if it is a flex fuel engine
