Yes, except for some 2.2L 4 cylinder models. All V6 and V8 models were fuel injected with either throttle body injection (looks similar to carburator), or multi-point injection.

TAke the Air cleaner off. If it is injected there will be wires in the top of the throttle body. If not there will be no wires visible. By 1989 all of Dodge Ram gas engines were fuel injected.

Don't know what you have, but I have a 97 3.9 V6 & fuel pressure calls for 44 to 54 psi
The fuel pump has an internal regulator that controls fuel pressure. The PCM controls the amount of fuel injected in the engine.
most crank sensors are for engine timing with the cam shaft, the distributor on at least 97' dodge and newer controls fuel timing.

One possibility: My 1994 Dakota did the same thing and was caused by a faulty fuel pump module.
