Depends. What currency is used on the cruise ship? This should be in the information given to you by the cruise company. If the cruise includes shore trip(s), you need the currency or currencies used in those places as well.
The pound is term for the British currency while the dollar is American. Banks all over the world compare their currencies value to that of the American dollar. Right now the pound is at 1.53280.
It is the world's reserve currency.
The Amero is currency being made to replace the American Dollar,Canadian Dollar and the Mexican Peso. It will be currency that can be used in all three nations. This is a scheme to have a one world government controlled by banks, the super wealthy, and goverment. The plan is to eventually have a one world currency...in other words a big freaking mess to say the least.
One Australian dollar, is worth 100 Australian cents. It value how ever, against other world currencies varies by it's trading value on the world currency markets. At the moment one Australian dollar is worth approximately 91.2 American cents, or 0.92 USD. Most of this rise in the Australian dollar, is not due to a rise in it's value, but a fall in the value of the American dollar. The value of a particular nations currency against another nations currency, can quickly be checked on the currency markets.
There are many different currencies in the world. Some countries share currencies like the euro and some countries have the same name for the currency but they are not the same currency like American dollar and the Canadian dollar. the most popular currencies are dollar, euro, pound, yen, ruble ect.

"Zimbabwe Dollar" no doubt
the us dollar has always been and will be the worlds most powerful currency and though the euro dollar does give it a challenge in Europe mostly, the rest of the world will always recognize the American dollar first. some countries have now made the us dollar their official currency replacing their own. i don't think in my lifetime that the us currency will ever be topped and I've got many a good years left in me according to my doctor.
"Zimbabwe Dollar" no doubt
