Answer:The Bible was written over a period of several centuries by various men, many of them anonymous, and many of its books were redacted, altered and added to be later writers. The Council of Jamnia had to decide which books to include in the Hebrew Bible and which to reject, with much debate in some cases. Even today, the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches include, in their Old Testaments, books that were rejected by the Jewish religious authorities. There were similar debates among the later Christians as to which books to include in the New Testament.

If God had really inspired these authors in what they wrote, why would his infallible word need to be changed so much? If the books of the Bible were really the word of God, why was it not more apparent to his followers just which books were so inspired? The inevitable conclusion is that the Bible was written by religious people, but it is not the word of God.

Answer:Ultimately it is a matter of faith for one to believe that the Bible is the Word of God.

Having said that it is important to realize that alterations, additions, deletions and discussions held by fallible humans over the centurues in no way affects whether or not the revelation we have in our hand is the Word of God -it merely shows that people are human. People often popint to what men have done and do not address the substace which supports the argument that the Bible is indeed the Word of the living God.

The remarkable unity of the overall message from Genesis to Revelation, despite the many authors and the long time frame (well over 1,000 years) points to its divine origin.

Many fulfilled prophecies, particularly in relation to Jesus Christ, all made over four hundreds years before Jesus was born are a strong testimony also.

The fact that the Bible ''tells it like it is'' in the way it deals with the real world and its fallible humans (including people who believed in God) indicates its veracity in terms of the things that we know are true. People lie, cheat steal and kill today as they always have and they are also deceivers and themselves deceived etc etc. In other words the Bible provides true insight into human nature. There is no ""mytholgisation process'' where things are doctored to make them look good or incredible and impossible tales are made up.

Included in the above is the Bible story of a recent creation 6,000 years ago and the worldwide flood of judgement in the days of Noah as well as the archaologically verified history of the nation of Israel. The former two events of course being continually verified and supported (not proven) by the findings of modern science despite much naturalistic opposition in the form of evolutionary beliefs. The evidence is there and the fact that people both ignore the evidence and remain ignorant itself supports the Bible's own contention that they will do so -see 2 Peter 3:3-6.

As the late Dr Francis Schaeffer put it the Bible describes accurately ''...the world that is and the mannishness of man.." These things point to its divine origin since the almighty maker Himself knows both man and human history better than anyone. Of course many specifically seek to cast doubt on the historical veracity of the Bible records, themselves citing the unproven theories of fallible humans whose work is uncritically accepted on faith.

Answer:I'd like to believe that the Bible is really the word of God. But after reading the Bible, I found it hard to believe that the God that I know will allow his children to do cruelties (mostly killing all males, women who have known men, babies, children, unborn babies except the virgins who they can ravish) and intolerance to people of other faith. This are not the words of the loving God that I know. Answer:I don't think so. It's just a rule book from Christianity. Answer:These verses talk about how scripture came to be written

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

2Pe 1:21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

So the Bible is God's word to us.

The Bible tells the story of God and man . It tells how God created everything that exists. He created man to have a relationship/fellowship with Him. But then man turned away from God and went his own way. The Bible tells the history of God's dealing with man. Through the stories of the patriarchs Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Then God's chosen people the children of Israel and finally how God has made it possible for all people to restore their relationship with Him.

The Bible certainly is not just a book of rules.

You could say it's a book about relationships peoples relationship with God and their relationship with each other.

Mar 12:30 and you shall love the lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' this is the first commandment.

Mar 12:31 and the second, like it, is this: 'you shall love your neighbor as yourself.' there is no other commandment greater than these."

Answer:Yes, Bible is the Word of God. This is the ONLY book that came directly from God as you would see from the following points. God preserved it forever even though many try to destroy it or change it. God is the Author and Protector of His message, the Bible.

1) God Himself wrote the Ten Commandments (Exo 34:1, Deu 10:2)

2) God directly commanded human agents to write His Word. For example, God commanded the following people to write His message

a) Moses (Exo 17:14, Exo 34:27, Num 33:2, Deu 31:19)

b) Kings (Deu 17:18)

c) Isaiah (Isa 8:1, Isa 30:8)

d) Jeremiah (Jer 30:2, Jer 36:2)

e) Habakkuk (Hab 2:2)

f) Paul (1Co 14:37)

g) John (Rev 1:11, 1:19, 2:1, 8, 12 &18; 3:1, 7, 12 & 14; 14:13; 19:9; 21:3-5)

3) The expressions like "the LORD God said" "the Lord said" "the Lord says" "God says" "God said" and like are written few thousand times altogether to show that it IS the Word of God

4) God preserved His Word when people tried to destroy it (Jer 36:28)

5) God's Word will always be preserved no matter what the world says (Psa 12:6-7, Mat 24:35 (JESUS said) The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away).

· Numerous prophecies and its fulfillment concerning Israel, other nations and Jesus

· Scientific foreknowledge and detailed description of Creation, cause of death, etc

· Unity in the message

· Universality of the message AND

· Truthfulness of the message confirms Divine origin of the Bible.

Why does it matter whether you believe the Bible is the Word of God?

There are at least three positions you can hold regarding the Bible as the Word of God. You can be a Christian or Jew who faithfully believes that the Bible is the true and revealed word of God. You can be a Christian or Jew who believes that the Bible is scripture, but not really the Word of God. Or you can be a nonbeliever, a follower of another religion or an agnostic or atheist, who does not believe that the Bible is more than the writing of good men. Which of these three positions you hold is really up to you, as long as you hold that position sincerely. It is certainly possible to be a Christian and yet not believe that the Bible is the revealed Word of God. After all, it would be hard otherwise to explain the errors and inconsistencies in the Bible.

It's not really a who it's more like a what...The Bible states that there is a God...and God was the word(the KJV Bible)...and all things were made by Him...and if God wasn't real then everything that was made wouldn't be here if He didn't exsist.

How is the Bible connected to Christianity?

In John 1:1 (NKJV)says,In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Christians believe in God and His Word is God Himself. We as Christians need the Bible because It is God. We read the Bible, learn from it and meditate on His Word. The Bible helps Christians increase love, faith and obedience to God. It helps to teach Christians love, forgiveness, life and how to live according to His Word. It also teaches God's promises to us and that He is loving God and that He will provide for us when we follow his Word. The Bible also shows that Jesus is the Son of God.
