Most likely, you will have to pay for the Droid Bionic even if you upgrade. However, it will be a lot cheaper if you are extending your contract than if you buy it outright.

You may be able to find a cheaper droid phone by looking on Ebay. The website is www.ebay.com. Amazon sometimes has great deals on phones as well, www.amazon.com.
This would be up to you as the purchaser. I suggest going to the Verizon store and asking to see a demo model of the Droid. Once you use it, you can then decide whether you want to buy it or not. As a Droid owner, I would say I love my Droid and would highly recommend it.

I think that the Droid and iPhone are the best. I prefer the iPhone. Both phones are very similar. I believe the Droid is a bit cheaper and has Flash which is great. But the iPhone is smoother, prettier, and easier to use.
