The Great Barrier Reef is far bigger than the Grand Canyon. It extends for around 2300 km in length, covers an area of about 300 000 sq km, while the coral reefs (not the ones with living polyps) reaches down to a depth of up to 500m.
The Grand Canyom, by comparison, is around 446 km long and up to 29 km wide, giving it an area of around 12 934 sq km. It is deeper, however, reaching a depth of up to 1.6 km.
Yes.
347.800 km² > 301.328 km²
1,000 feet gigger only a idiot wouldent know that
Great or not, it is certainly grand.
It is a great canyon, and a great whitewater site, but the Grand Canyon is a spectacular giant by comparison.
depends on how close you are when looking at it Funny! Seriously, the name itself, Copper Canyon, is deceptive. It leads one to believe that it is a 'single' canyon, when it is not. Copper Canyon consists of six (6) different canyons. The Grand Canyon is a 'single' canyon, therefore the two cannot be compared. For those who vehemently believe that Copper Canyon is larger, that is like saying the the Great Lakes should be considered an ocean or a sea because they intersect. Geographical descriptions do not work that way. Copper Canyon is unique, but it is not bigger than the Grand Canyon.
There are great canyons elsewhere in the world, but the only Grand Canyon is in Arizona.
Some World Heritage Sites are Uluru,Great Barrier reef,Grand Canyon,Niagarra Falls and the Statue of of Liberty
