Is the Magnum 5.2 V8 engine an interference engine?
No. It is not an inteference engine. Just replace th timing gear and chain and you should be good to go.
i think it was 1955. If you're referring to the fullsize vans, they came with V8's all the way up until the line's retirement in 2003. The first generation (1971-1979) had a LOT of engine options, including the 440 cubic inch. Second generation (1979-1993) had either the Chrysler LA 238 V6, or Chrysler LA 318 V8. Third generation (1993-2003) had either the Magnum V6, Magnum V8 5.2L, or Magnum V8 5.9L. They have ALWAYS had…
As many as it takes. In 1998, Dodge pickups were available with a 3.9 liter Magnum V6 (1500 only), 5.2 liter Magnum V8, 5.9 liter Magnum V8, 8 liter Magnum V10 (2500 and 3500), and 5.9 liter Cummins 6BT diesel (2500 and 3500). Each engine has different oil capacities, and we have no way of knowing which one you have without you telling us.
dodge/ram has used two v8 engines in its trucks since 2004, the 4.7 and the 5.7 hemi... before '04 it was the 5.9v8 (360 cubic inch)... the diesel engines in dodge trucks are built by Cummins, and are all inline six (I6), none of the diesel dodges have v8 inches. therefore there was never a 'magnum v8 cummins' since there was never a v8 cummins, hope that helps!
