The Mediterranean is much larger then Lake Superior -- the Mediterranean Sea is 970,000 square miles. Lake Superior is 49,000 sq miles, making the Sea more than 19 times the size of Lake Superior. All the Great Lakes together don't approach the size of the Mediterranean.
