Yes. I forgot the name, but the daughter of the owner of the very first Ocicat thought the spotted cat looked very much like an ocelot, so came the name.
The Ocicat is an all-domestic breed of cat which resembles a wild cat but has no wild DNA in its gene pool. The breed is unusual in that it is spotted like a wild cat but has the temperament of a domestic animal. It is named for its resemblance to the ocelot.
Yes. Ocicats are a mix of an Ocelot and a domestic cat and the following breeds: Siamese, Abyssinan, American Shorthair. Not correct - there is NO wild cat ancestry in the Ocicat. The Ocicat is a recognised breed of pedigree cat, first developed in the US in the late 1960s. The original cross was Siamese x Abyssinian, then later American SH was used to add the silver colour and to improve the boning. I am an Ocicat breeder in the UK so I do know the breed history and it's a common misconception that the Ocelot was involved. The only link to the Ocelot is that the original breeder thought the spotted kittens resembed Ocelots, hence the name "Ocicat".
There are a few cats what begin with the letter o. Some of them are Ocicat, Ocelot, Oriental shorthair, and Oriental longhair.
A family of wild cats could be some wild cats, but they are family. Or wild cats like the Ocelot (a kind of endangered wild cat) breed with a tamed cat to make another breed of tamed cats, like the Ocicat (and Ocelot breed with a tabby)
what dose a ocicat eat for food
Ocelot
Yes, he did. Some say he called it Ozzie.Dali's ocelot was named Baboo, and was trained & owned by one of Dali's managers Capt. Moore.
An Ocicat resembles a wild cat, it is also spotted like a wild animal but it has the same temperament as a domestic cat. The first breed of an Ocicat was in Berkeley in 1964.
The cat breed Ocicat is pronounced as "OH-see-cat."

I think they said something about it being related to the Egyptian Mau on Cats 101, Which airs on Animal Planet. I'm not sure which channel, though, for me it comes on channel 61 or 861(HD). I'm not sure which episode, but it lists which cats they talk about. The reason they mentioned it was because of the Ocicat, which is related to the Ocelot. So, sorry to ramble on, but just check out the link or something to find out. You're welcome!
An ocicat is a new breed of cats, derived from crossing a chocolate point Siamese with a hybrid Abyssinian pointed Siamese. An ocicat resembles a 'wild' cat because of it's spotted coloring, but has the temperament of a domestic cat.
