Yes it is. The Kinect is just a controller system for the Xbox 360 and does not include the console. There are different Kinect bundles sold on Amazon and all under the $149.99 retail price except the Xbox 360 Console Kinect bundles. The PS3 console optional Move also has Bundles like the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Bundle at $79.99 on amazon. It is true that the PS3 Move will cost more when set up for a multiple player configuration because each individual will need there own controller.
You will find that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are still competitively priced with the 320 GB PS3 Uncharted 3 console bundle and LittleBigPlanet 2 Move bundle a slightly better deal than the 320 GB Xbox 360 Kinect Star Wars limited edition. The 4GB Xbox 360 does not compare with any PS3 in the inventory and when the Kinect is added to it in a bundle it price is about what the PS3 320 GB console is
with playstation move there is a bigger selection of games but kinect is newer (Kinect came out first)so there should be more games to come and also with kinect controllers don't go flying trough the TV unless you jump trough your TV. last but not least with the new xbox 360 s you can talk to kinect ! so I would say Kinect is better the PlayStation move. There are 165 Move games that are already available and more are expected. I have only seen the Kinect at stores and have not done more than a demo there so I can not know whether it is better
totally Xbox Kinect. If you consider that both the PlayStation Move and Kinect cost over $100 each, they're considered the worst. The Kinect has a slow reaction time and doesn't have any good games. The PlayStation Move is only slightly more precise than Wii MotionPlus, but costs a LOT more. The Wii MotionPlus costs only $20, and it isn't a controller like Move. Also, both Microsoft and Sony screwed up by copying from Nintendo.
It depends, if you want to which one is better in technology then the Xbox 360 Kinect is far more superior then the PlayStation move, but if you want to know which one is better in general then that's down to your own opinion.
PS3 move is WAY better than Xbox kinect
If you already have the Xbox 360, you can just buy the Kinect bundle console which saves you more money. Kinect bundle works in Xbox 360 with both 4GB and 250GB memory. You can also buy an Xbox 360 which already comes with a Kinect bundle. You can't play Kinect without an Xbox 360 nonetheless.
You can check out the prices on the XBox Kinect at Walmart or Target before you get it at Gamestop. Sometimes specialty stores can run a little more expensive. Walmart has been having that item on sale, and it may go down even more in time for Christmas.
It's the Kinect for the Xbox 360. Remember for the Kinect your the controller of the games.
I don't know the specific answer, but probably to attract more people to buy the Xbox. Kinect is a motion sensing device, and it is fun. Mabye it is the same reason Sony invented the PlayStation move for the Ps3
Well, yes. There are two kinect systems, one is a Kinect PC and the other is a Kinect 360. If you want to use your kinect with your xbox get the 360 one. If you have games and mods on your pc you can get the kinect pc but it is considerably more than the kinect 360.
noooo you dont :) i have kinect.. when you plug the kinect for your console it asks you for update and when you press YES UPDATE MY CONSOLE, it asks you to insert the disk that came with your kinect(kinect adventures disk) and when you insert the disk the console updates itself.. :) no update from the internet needed... enjoy and i recommend buying it, it is a very cool thing..... any more questions send me to: gabondiego@gmail.com
The Kinect is a add-on for the Xbox 360. There is no Kinect Xbox 360. There was the released of the Xbox 360 S, this Xbox 360 is basically a new design. The console is also more powerful in a way that it can power the Kinect only through a USB port, the older Xbox 360's does not and will need a power supply to help it.
No, you can play on Xbox Live with or without Kinect. Kinect only adds more features to Xbox Live. It is not a requirement.
