Modern big aeroplanes are equally safe. Saab 340 has all the necessary features from technological point of view to be a safe aeroplane. 80% of the accidents come from the human factor so it is more important who flies (and maintains!) the machine rather than what kind it is. Personally I know Saab 340 captain and he said that it is very good machine. So fly without fear!:)
Saab and Scania were merged in the past, but split again about 20 years ago. The Saab aircraft company and Saab automobile company are no longer the same, either.
There is no such aircraft.
Saab started as a aircraft company in 1938 in Sweden. Their first car, the Saab 92, was prototyped in 45 and began production in 1949.

The aircraft the Saab 2000 had to make an emergency stop at Werneuchen Airfield Germany on July 10, 2002. It was also involved in many attacks in the 2000's.

Saab was an independent auto manufacturer until 1990 when General Motors acquired 50% of the company. Saab began life in 1937 as "Svenska Aeroplan AB" (SAAB) to manufacture military aircraft for defense of neutral Sweden against a possible attack from Germany. After the war, SAAB needed a product to sell as military aircraft were not so much in demand. They chose to build cars, and their first model, the 92, was shown to the public in 1947. The first cars rolled off the production line in Trollhattan in late 1949.
The very first operational Saab 37 Viggen (Thunderbolt), a Swedish fighter aircraft, was produced in 1970. The first prototype was manufactured and flown in 1967.
Of course! Saab engineers wouldn't have it any other way. Safety has been a major consideration in Saab cars since the first one was designed in the late 1940s.
Yes, the A 380 is a very safe aircraft.
The SAAB 900 is listed to be one of the top 100 cars that are safe and reliable. I've never driven one but I think I trust the reviews I've read. They also are very nice looking rides.
