A venus fly trap is both a producer and a carnivore (a consumer).

Since it makes its own food by photosynthesis, it is a producer.

To make that food, it must trap and digest insects and absorb the nutrients that it doesn't get from the poor soil it grows in. So it is also a carnivore.
