Yes
The layers of the atmosphere help protect the earth, like a blanket. The ozone layer protects the Earth from dangerous UV rays from the sunThe atmosphere prevents meteors from striking the Earth. The atmosphere also keeps what helps us stay alive inside of the Earth, for example oxygen. The greenhouse gases in the atmosphere absorb the sun's heat, radiated from the surface of the earth, and keep the planet warm enough for life.
The earth's atmosphere saves us humans from dieing from the suns deadly rays. It is like a shield that saves the knight from a knife. Or putting a blanket over the earth's atmosphere. The Earth's atmosphere also creates rain. In the summer on a hot, sunny day, water evaporates, and when the steam hits the atmosphere, the steam condensates into water, making rain to fill our lakes, streams, etc.

Some scientists say it is because of global warming. global warming is caused by what is believed to be us polluting the atmosphere. When we pollute the atmosphere with smoke, and gas, and other harmful things, it traps the heat from the sun which makes it feel hotter. Imagine it like the Earth covered up with a blanket. When you get hot, you would want to take the blanket off. Well, the Earth cannot take off that blanket when it gets hot. It just keeps getting hotter and hotter. Have you ever been in a greenhouse? If you have, you would know it is very hot. The Earth's atmosphere is like a greenhouse. It takes in the sun heat and traps it inside. Of course our atmosphere releases some heat to make the atmosphere at a moderate temperature and not boiling hot. Global warming is making the Earth much warmer and when the air gets more heated up, the atmosphere doesn't release enough to keep it at that normal temperature.
The atmosphere. See the Web Link to the left for more information. The Blanket of gases that surrounds the Earth is called...y didnt any one put the answer? that's not good.... i need help with my homework! The Atmosphere.
Because the atmosphere covers the Earth like a blanket.
The atmosphere covers the Earth like a blanket.
Atmosphere covers the Earth like a blanket.
The atmosphere refers to the envelope of gases surrounding the planets like the earth.
because that way it keeps us from the sun and light

Sunlight that travels from the sun, through the Earth's atmosphere and reaches the Earth will heat up the Earth, including the atmosphere.Carbon Dioxide then will act like a blanket to all this heat, keeping it from being expelled out of Earth's atmosphere and into space. That is the effect a greenhouse has with moderating the temperature for the incumbent vegetation.
Because CO2 acts like a blanket around the Earth this contributes to the Earth becoming warmer
There is not much atmosphere on earth

No. The moon does not have an atmosphere.
