no 3" 16ga., they made some solid rib bbls,?does bbl #s & rec. # match A lot of numbers and inscriptions on the barrel, including "Made in Belgium" on one side and "Browning Arms Co. St. Louis, Mo." on the other. also 1Kg073, a "U" on its side with flourishes, an asterisk, small "0" , an insignia that I assume is the Belgium Coat of Arms with a griffin over "PV" and a crown over the letter "E" centered over "LG", then the numbers 16 70 inside an oval. The underside of the barrel near the receiver is probably the number we're looking for: A69911. It's a solid rib barrel. I assume the gun was mfg. 1920's fitted later with a newer 2 3/4" barrel.

What is the age and value of a Belgian Browning sweet sixteen - serial number S-10744?

Its an Auto-5 Standard, Manu'd between 1903-1940, but most likely 1923 or later. If it has the 2 9/16 chamber, that knocks the value down ab 25%.

Browning Sweet Sixteen serial number X77722 any info on this Thanks?

This firearm was apparently manufactured in 1952, the X proceeding the s/n implies that it has a 2 3/4" chamber as opposed to the old 2 9/16" chamber. High condition Auto 5s are becoming somewhat collectable, especially the Sweet Sixteen and a high grade one in "new in box" condition (with the original shipping box) might bring as much a 2 grand if you could find the right collector.

What is the age and value of a Belgian Browing 16 ga standard weight gun in 50-60 percent finish serial number 492xx?

Your browning auto-5 shotgun was made in 1926.These auto-5 shotguns could be had in a chamber length on 2 9/16in before 1927 instead of the regular 2 3/4in.A standard model browning in 16gauge with 60% original finish will bring 250 dollars for a shotgun with the standard solid matte rib barrel. If yours is a vent rib barrel then 285 dollars. If you prove to have a gun chambered in 2 9/16in.then subtract 25% of the above listed values.

What is the age and value of a Belgian Browning 16 Ga Standard Weight gun in used but works good condition - serial number FN96488?

Your serial number of 96488 indicates that your Browning standard weight auto-5 shotgun was made in the year 1934.The value of it in good condition(60-70) percent of original finish remaining will be 250-285 dollars for a plain barrel model,285-325 dollars foe a solid matte rib barrel model, and 325-375 dollars for a vent rib barrel model. If it is chambered in 2 9/16in deduct 25% for the older dimension chamber instead of the standard 2 3/4in chamber. This was present in 16 gauge models made before 1940,but not in all shotguns. It should be checked by a gunsmith to determine the correct chamber length.
