The Bible can be considered to be the word of God in so far as it is translated correctly from the original writings of its authors. Unfortunately this is not the case for many truths have been omitted from the original writings.

Another view: No Bible can be inspired due to the interpretive inherent nature of any translation (Bible = translation). The original Scriptures (inspired Autographs), I call the "inspired Word of God," defined as the original Scriptures are perfectly inspired without one error. Bibles are authoritative, faithful, and trustworthy in the sense as an aid in an effort to indicate the original sense of the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

Although some people undoubtedly believe it is, it is extremely unlikely. '''Answer:''' Not to those who '''DON'T BELIEVE'''. To the unbeliever they are just words... often thought of as "fables, myths, Jewish bedtime stories and errant genealogies of deluded men." The Bible, however, tells us that the Bible is "'''DIRECT''' '''COMMUNICATION FROM GOD''''' delivered by His "'''angel'''" to men to be recorded and passed on to others. "'''Moses''' was with the assembly of God's people in the wilderness. '''He was the mediator''' between the people of Israel and '''THE ANGEL WHO GAVE HIM''' Life-Giving Words on Mount Sinai '''to PASS ON TO US'''." (Acts 7:38 '''NLT''' New Living Translation) "This is '''a revelation from Jesus Christ''', which God [the Father] gave Him concerning the events that will happen soon. '''AN ANGEL WAS SENT''' to God's servant John '''so that John could share the revelation''' with God's other servants. '''John Faithfully reported the Word of God'''..." (Rev.1:1-2 '''NLT''') The Bible is the '''''LIVING'''" Word of God. The '''"Life-Giving Words of God'''." God's "Manna [Bread] from heaven;" "'''Spiritual Food'''" for the nourishment and development of Righteous Godly Character; and Faith and Trust in God. Unless those Words are "'''believed'''" by the reader who has "'''God's HOLY SPIRIT'''" in his heart and mind... they mean little or nothing at all to him or her. "It is '''the Spirit''' that gives Eternal Life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And '''THE VERY WORDS I HAVE SPOKEN to you ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE'''. But '''some of you DON'T BELIEVE ME'''... That is what I meant when I said that '''people can't come to Me UNLESS THE FATHER BRINGS THEM TO ME'''." (John 6:63-65 '''NLT''') "...I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at My Word." (Isa.66:2 '''NLT''') It's through "'''the Holy Spirit dwelling WITHIN A MAN'''" that the Word of God, the Bible, "'''communicates DIRECTLY'''" with that Faithful, Believing man.

Why do you have the Bible?

A book could be filled just to answer this. However, I will give you basic coverage. The bible is the inspired word of God. It is in writing, and this puts no dependence on one person after it is written. (How could we instead refer to a person on the word of God?) It is God's word, and since God doesn't change his mind, the word does not change. This is evidenced in that any given legitimate version of a Bible usually does not have differences that cannot be reconciled with other versions. A more direct reason: People are able to refer to the Bible to find God's authority on any issue. (the Bible is the final "arbiter" on what is right and wrong). It is the most widely distributed book in the world-- this is evidence that God wants us to be able to refer to His word! In the Bible it is written that faith in Jesus is the shield of a believer... but His word is the sword! Therefore, when it comes to confronting evil, the word of God will vanquish it.

How is the Bible connected to Christianity?

In John 1:1 (NKJV)says,In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Christians believe in God and His Word is God Himself. We as Christians need the Bible because It is God. We read the Bible, learn from it and meditate on His Word. The Bible helps Christians increase love, faith and obedience to God. It helps to teach Christians love, forgiveness, life and how to live according to His Word. It also teaches God's promises to us and that He is loving God and that He will provide for us when we follow his Word. The Bible also shows that Jesus is the Son of God.
