Efforts are being made to reintroduce the ferret to prairies, mainly in Arizona, in hopes of repopulation.

∙ 13y agoThe black footed ferret is not extinct, but nearly was. A small population was found in Wyoming, and led to a captive breeding program, which has been very successful. Now, around 2000 ferrets again roam the wilds.
