No. The far side of the moon is usually partially illuminated by the sun and is only completely dark during the full moon. The far side of the moon is fully lit during the new moon phase. It is called the "dark" side of the moon because we never see it.

Have humans orbited the dark side of the moon?

You probably mean the far side, not the dark side:There is no "dark side of the moon". Every point on the moon is illuminated for roughly 50% of the time, just like every point on earth. So sometimes the far side is light, and sometimes it's dark. Just like the near side.None of the Apollo missions landed or traveled to the far side of the moon ... the side that's invisible from earth ... mainly because they could not have communicated with earth by radio from there.

From which album is the song dark side of the moon?

Dark Side of the Moon is also the albums title No, I think the song is from a different album. If the song is from the same album then what is the song called? Nowhere is the song named in the album.

Who wrote the dark side of the moon?

There technically is no dark side of the moon. It's just the part of the moon that we don't see from earth. The more common term is 'far side'. We never see the 'far side' of the moon because the face of the moon that we see is always oriented toward earth. As the moon goes through its monthly orbit of earth, the moon is also slowly turning on its axis in such a way that one orbit is on average exactly the same length of time as one rotation. The same side always faces earth.

Did any of the astronauts ever go on the dark side of the moon?

All the Apollo landings were on the near side as opposed to the far side (a better term than "dark side", since it isn't actually any darker... statistically, it's very slightly lighter than the near side). However, all the missions which involved a landing, plus a few others, did take the astronauts completely around the Moon. Astronauts on Apollo 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 did get to see the far side of the Moon.

Why is one side of the moon called the dark side of the moon-?

The "dark" side of the Moon is not a side that's permanently dark, but simply the side - about one half of the Moon - that we can never see from Earth. It's better to call it the "far side" of the Moon. Why the far side is sometimes called the "dark side" is probably just a misunderstanding. Also, it may be to do with the idea that the far side is more "mysterious". Each place on the Moon receives sunlight during the course of a month, as the Moon goes through its phases.

Why is there a near side and a far side of the moon?

Nothing. There is no life on the moon, dark side or light side.

Why is the phrase dark side of the moon not right?

You can use the phrase "dark side of the Moon" - but not as a synonym for "far side of the Moon". The Moon has days and nights like the Earth does, except that lunar days are 28 days long. The far side of the Moon - the part never seen from Earth - also gets days and nights just like the side we see.

Is there really a dark side of the moon?
