They are both part of your emission system
There is no EGR valve on a 2000 Honda CR-V. The emission system used in these vehicles did not require an EGR.

if you have a 2.2,most 99's dont have a egr valve, changed to a different to a different emission system in 99

check the egr valve, and you emission control system
If you have looked for the EGR valve and cannot find one you may not have one, you may have an emission package that does not use the EGR valve. I would suggest getting it looked at to see if your car has this package.
