There are 6 space shuttles, 5 fully functional.
Enterprise- Named after the Star Trek ship, it's not able to go to space. It can fly like a plane though. It's a test ship.
Colombia- First shuttle to go into space. Blew up in 2003.
Challenger- blew up in 1986
Discovery- STS-133, last mission for this shuttle.
Atlantis- STS-135 last space shuttle mission scheduled this summer.
Endeavour- STS-134, next mission, coming up soon. This was made as a replacement to Challenger in the 90's.
All of them are reusable to go into space except for the blown up ones and Enterprise.
Enterprise is still functional for flying on Earth.
The first reusable space ship was the Space Shuttle created by NASA. Named Space Shuttle Columbia.

The first reusable winged space shuttle was the Apollo or the columbia...I know that the penn foster tests are hard but this narrows it down to two answers...good luckthe answer is a: columbia (((just took the test 10-25-09)))
The first space shuttle, the Space Shuttle Columbia, was developed by NASA and made its first test flight on April 12, 1981. It was a reusable spacecraft designed to carry astronauts and cargo to and from space.
The Space Shuttle, developed by NASA, was America's first reusable spacecraft. It was introduced in 1981 and consisted of an orbiter, solid rocket boosters, and an external fuel tank. The Space Shuttle program continued until 2011.
The first shuttle to reach space was the Space Shuttle Columbia, which completed its maiden flight on April 12, 1981. This marked the beginning of NASA's Space Shuttle program, which aimed to provide a reusable spacecraft for space missions.
The shuttle has a large payload and it is reusable.
As the space shuttle is a reusable it is now to old.
The second space shuttle was named "Challenger." It followed the first space shuttle, Columbia, in NASA's fleet of reusable spacecraft. Challenger tragically disintegrated shortly after launch in 1986.
James Kay did not invent the first space shuttle. The first space shuttle, known as the Space Shuttle Enterprise, was developed by NASA and made its first test flight in 1977. The concept of a reusable space shuttle was proposed in the 1960s as a way to make space travel more cost-effective.
