Due to electron transitions in atoms some chemical elements emit a characteristic colored flame.
In The name of God Introduction: Flame test is method to identify the element (metal ions) based on Emission spectrum. The test involve putting sample of Unknown element and see what color appears. Also Thermal excited electron goes from low to high energy level which raises the color but when the excitation ends electron gets to lower level which make the color back to normal. Then compare it to flame test result of former lab but after testing it with cobalt blue glass. Material: 1- Safety Goggles 2- 250 mL beaker 3- 500 mL beaker 4- Bunsen burner 5- Cobalt blue glass 6- Distilled water 7- Flame test wire 8- Dropper 9- Test plate with walls 10- Spectroscope 11- HCl solution 12- Unknown Solution Number 6 Procedure: 1- Small amount of HCl was added to small 250 mL beaker. 2- The Bunsen burner was lighted. 3- The flame test wire was dipped into the HCl for minute then heated by holding it in the Bunsen burner for another minute or until all the red color is gone. 4- The flame test wire was cooled and then rinsed with distilled water into 500 mL beaker. 5- Full drop of unknown solution # 6 was added to test plate. 6- The flame test wire was dipped into unknown # 6 Solutions. 7- Then the flame test wire was put to fire. 8- The procedure No. 3&4 were repeated to clean the flame test wire. 9- The flame test was dipped again in the Unknown solution # 6. 10- Blue Cobalt glass was used to test the color. 11- The flame test wire was put to fire while holding the blue cobalt glass. Look at lab 8.7, in your book. I lost my book so i cannot answer this for you... and its not in my notebook...good luck!i HATE ips...;)- carrott
no
A flame is not extinguished when a wire gauze is placed on top of it because the flame is still exposed to oxygen. The gauze has holes, through which oxygen can flow. Additionally, oxygen can reach the flame from under the gauze. Consequently, the flame is not extinguished.
To burn off anything present that may alter the colour of your test.
In the lab. and for small quantities. use the 'pop' test. Allow the hydrogen to be in contact with oxygen, then put a flame to it. It will 'pop'.

i want to know the answer for this plz help me now..........
which type of lab test suggest for kwashiorkor Or what are the lab test for kwashiokor disease?
You boil some water and put the test tube in and its heated up but you don't have to worry about a flame. You boil some water and put the test tube in and its heated up but you don't have to worry about a flame. To heat a test tube you simply use a Bunsen burner. Make sure you use pliers to hold it with though because it will get very hot. Also you can change the heat of the Bunsen burner by switching it to the blue flame. you always hold it away from you and your lab partner. heat it sideways and slowly run it through the flame to distribute the heat evenly.
the only drug test that can detect is in a lab,,, like a lab test

A common lab procedure taught in my chemistry classes in grammar school was to perform a "splint" test. To test for the presence of oxygen, you would light the end of a wooden splint and reduce the flame to the point that the end of the splint is simply glowing red but not burning. Insert the glowing end into the unknown gas's container and observe what happens. If the flame returns, the gas is oxygen. by Ronan Lavery

You should tie your back if you have long hair, make sure that the bunsen burner is standing up nice and sturdy and turn it off after using.
