The 1962 Galazy 500 equipped with the 406 V8 with either a single 4 barrel or 3 dueces would be considered a muscle car by some. These Fords were overweight when compared to the Pontiacs of that year so Ford built 11 lightweight Galaxy's which weighed less than 3.400 pounds. These were definately muscle cars. In 1963 Ford introduced the 427 V8 which replaced the 406 V8. With 425+ H.P. this was most certaintly a muscle car. But the Galaxy was a heavy car and could not really compete with the Pontiac's and Chevy's. So the bottom line is that with the right engine and some lightweigh components it was a muscle car.
In Magnum Force, Insp. 'Dirty' Harry Callahan's personal car is a blue 1972 Ford LTD convertible. He is also seen often in an olive green 1972 Ford Galaxie 500.
None. There is no 1969 Ford Galaxie 500XL. In 1969, the XL did not carry the Galaxie name, the same as the LTD. The word "Galaxie" did not appear anywhere on the car, nor on the title or window sticker.
Car, no. Truck, yes. Ford did make a car with the XL moniker but not XL 100. There was the XL, Galaxie 500 XL, & XL GT.

No, not originally. The diecast was not originally put o the regular Galaxie 500, but I know it was on the LTD and 7 Litre

Hi, I can think of a few cars that were made by the FORD/Mercury motor company that refered to the solar system. The first that comes to mind is the Galaxie 500 also the Comet, and later the Taurus which is named after a constellation.
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 is without a doubt the muscle car classic! The most sot after Muscle Car is the one and only Shelby Cobra. There is no other muscle car that can touch the 1962 Shelby Cobra when it comes to collectibility. Click the link to see the king of muscle cars.
