The theoretical Oort cloud is relatively orderly with very few collisions and consisting of hundreds of thousands of objects. There is supposed to be one around our star.
The Milky Way?
That could be called a solar system.
nope.

No. Beyond Pluto, there are thousands of other objects orbiting the Sun.
Charles Messier a French astronomer, published an astronomical catalogue consisting of deep sky objects such as nebulae and star clusters that came to be known as the 103 "Messier objects".It was published in 1774.The purpose of the catalogue was to help astronomical observers, in particular comet hunters such as himself, distinguish between permanent and transient objects in the sky._________________________Interestingly enough, Messier wasn't interested in any of that stuff; Messier was a comet hunter. His catalogue was of "objects that look a little like comets but aren't". His catalogue was designed so that he wouldn't waste time looking at these non-comet objects in his telescope.
Pluto was recently reclassified as a dwarf planet after being considered the 9th planet for over 80 years. This was due to the discovery of several Pluto-sized objects is similar orbits to Pluto, and the suspected existence of hundreds or thousands more.

Sun dial and a clock?
No. there is actually no such limit in any of the collections in java. The arraylist and vector are the most commonly used collections and they take thousands of objects. I have personally used them with atleast a 100,000 thousand objects.
