Answer One:
The 1997 movie from Fox Animated Studios takes several liberities with historical fact right from the very beginning, but yes, Anastasia Romanov was a real Grand Duchess of Russia, born in 1901 and murdered with her entire Imperial family in 1918 by Bolshevik Revolutionary Soldiers.
Answer Two:
Yes it is. Anastasia was a part of the Russian royal family.
No, the claim of the woman who surfaced in England claiming to be Anastasia is false. Her body was found along with that of Alexei's and DNA testing has proved that that body is one belonging to the Romanov family.
The cartoon film, even if one presumes Stacy got out alive- which is possible- takes a number of liberties with history that are not good Dramatic license. l. she is clearly a pre-adolescent child at the time of the massacre ( she was l7 years and one month- a far more attractive age for male fans!) The Massacre took place in Ekaterinberg and not in St. Petersburg in real life- it is still called by the latter name- St. Pete was a ( Free-fire zone) during the revolution, but Moscow saw little fighting. The role of Rasputin was way exaggerated and the occult angles unwarranted. oddly no mention of Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin, the real authors of the Revolution. It came out all right for Stacy and Dimitri- and also Sophie and the interpreter- Vladimir- looked like a Russian Ben Franklin, but something more historically accurate would have been better. May She Rise again- in live action movies!
Sadly no its not but they never found the girl

no it is not a true story or based off a true story
"Anastasia is about the lost princess of the tzar empire of russia. When the princess was little, the commoners started a civil revolution and burned the palace. Anastasia's family was killed except for her grandmother, a dutchess in Paris. When Anastasia and her grandmother tried to escape, Anastasia fell off the train and hit her head, causing amnesia. The story is her trying to find her way to Paris, based on a clue 'together in Paris' which is inscribed on her necklace. Anastasia is taken to Paris by a pair of cons looking to find a princess look-a-like so they can 'reunite' her with her grandmother and 10million reubels reward. The villain is the sorcerer Rasputin, who traded his soul for forbidden magic so he could kill the entire royal family. But Anastasia is alive, so his mission is incomplete, which means she must also survive his attempts on her life." This is what the cartoon movie is about. One moral lesson in the story of Anastasia is the power of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite facing challenges and uncertainty, Anastasia holds on to her identity and belief in herself, eventually finding her way back to her family and rightful place. This serves as a reminder to always stay true to oneself and remain hopeful even in difficult times.
No Anastasia really was killed by the Bolshevik's with the rest of her family in Ekaterinburg - She was 17 The movie hardly has anything to do with the true story. It was all fabricated
There really is no book on Anastasia but the differences between the movie and the true story of Anastasia Romanov is that her family wasn't killed when she was 8 years old, she was 17 when she and her family were exicuted in the "House of Special Purpose's" basement. But her Grandmother did escape the tragidy and live in Paris until she moved to Canada a few years later.

If true her escape alone is quite a survival adventure, what?
There was never any evidence that she herself gave or used that could have proven that she was Anastasia. All she had was the story that she told about how the night the royal family was killed a man resued her, brought her to Bucharest raped her got her pregnant and then was killed. She claimed she went to Berlin to tell her family she was alive, but suposedly got nervous and decided to end her life instead. The story however was not true.
