Is the practice of Live like Ali and Die like Hussein wrong?

There is nothing wrong to live like any Sahaba(Companion of Prphet Mohammed Peace Be Upon Him, but in this case Ali is from the Ahl al-Bait, or family members of Muhammad). Whether it is Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman or Ali Radi Allah. Following any of those will satisfy Prophets hadith.
Die like Husain is just teaching you be Patience on any calamities fall on you like it did on Husain Radi Allah and others.
Islam teaches you to be brave like ALI radi Allah or Like Umar. People used to respect them and love them. But going to extreme like the Shi'as do is questionable.
But Sunni and Shi'a are both are Muslims. They both believe in the same Qur'an and same prophet. Shi'a also should leave their hard line attitude and come to main stream and Sunnis should respect the Shi'as and stop considering them as Nauzibillah, Kafir, and other stupid words.
