No. Jesus did not raise himself from the dead, God did;(Acts 2:24)(John 5:30) and neither do WE have the power to raise ourselves, but Godwill, if he feels we are worthy of it. (John 5:28&29)(Acts 17:31) (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Scriptural reasons:

Mankind was created to live forever on earth.

Adam was a perfect man who proved unfaithful, and brought sin and death to all mankind. That's WHY we die.(Romans 5:12, 18&19)

Jesus was a perfect man sent by God (Luke 4:43) to replace Adam as our 'father', (1 Corinthians 15:45, 47) buying us back from sin and death,(John 5:25&26) giving us the opportunity, once again, to live forever, (John 17:3-5)(Psalms 37:11,29) as originally purposed by God.(Genesis 2:16&17)(1Jo 4:9)(Galatians 4:4&5)(1 John 2:1&2) We have a choice which 'father' to follow.(Romans 6:16) Jesus was sent as a representative of God, his father (Matthew 16:16)(John 3:16-18)(John 17:8)(John 20:17) (John 6:29) and future king of God's kingdom. In his due time, under that kingdom rule, GOD will resurrect those whom he chooses.(Acts 24:15)(Isaiah 26:19) (Daniel 12:2) (Matthew 22:31)

Another Answer Jesus said, 17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:17,18

He also said, 23 ... "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. John 14:23

Jesus said He has the power to lay down His life, and to take it up again. He said that if anyone loves Him and keeps His Word, the Father will love them, and Jesus and the Father will come to them and abide with them. The question is, "Is the resurrection power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead in us? " Given the above-quoted statements of Jesus Himself, it is fair to assert that if we love Him, He is indeed in us, along with the power that He has to raise Himself from the dead. He doesn't come in and leave any of His essence elsewhere. Therefore, the succinct answer to the question is - yes.

Does the book of Mormon reference the resurrection of Jesus?

Yes! The Book of Mormon references the resurrection of Jesus Christ long before the event actually took place. In 2 Nephi chapter 9 (estimated to be written in 559 BC) we learn that it has been the plan of God from the beginning that there should be a resurrection brought about by the atonement of a Savior, who is Jesus Christ. In Jacob chapter 4 (estimated to be written in 544 BC), the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ is also mentioned. In the book of Mosiah, chapter 15 (estimated to be written in 148 BC) the doctrine of resurrection is discussed. Here, we learn that Jesus Christ will break the bonds of death, that He will be resurrected, and that through Him all others will be resurrected. Jesus' resurrection is also discussed in chapter 18. In Alma chapter 40 (estimated to be written in 74 BC), the doctrine of resurrection and the event of Christ's resurrection is discussed in further detail. Helaman chapter 14 (estimated to be written in 6 BC) teaches that "the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind." and foretells what those on the American continent will experience at the time of Christ's death and resurrection. The 3 Nephi tells of the events that occurred in the Americas at the time of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, but does not repeat the Bible story of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It describes a period of three days darkness taking place during the time Christ was in the tomb, and tells the story of the resurrected Christ visiting the Book of Mormon peoples several months after His resurrection. The later books of Mormon and Moroni, written a few hundred years after the life of Christ, remind us that we should have hope in the power of the resurrection of Christ.

How did Jesus come to life again?

God the Father resurrected Jesus from the dead. There is a time coming and many believe it is soon that people that have believed in Jesus Christ and have died that they will be resurrected. Being resurrected means that you will receive a new body that is suitable for heaven and will last an eternity. This first resurrection is for persons who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. There will be another resurrection at the end of Jesus Christ rule and reign on earth (about 1000 years after the first resurrection). This resurrection is for people who never accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. They too will receive new bodies, but they will be sent to the Lake of Fire to suffer for an eternity. So you can see that it is ultra important to be in the first resurrection. You need to be "Born again" and that is by believing in your heart that Jesus died for your sins on Calvary, was three days in the grave and was resurrected on the third day. This has to be a belief in your heart. God has the power to bring you to life by believing in His Son Jesus Christ.
