Ok for all you crazy people the because i made a mistake and hooked the wires up backwards so the ribbed wire is negative.
Depending on colours of course black is usually negative and the other colour (generally red but depends) is positive. Get a D-cell Battery. Now get two pieces of speaker wire. hold one wire on the positive terminal of the battery and hold the other on the negative side of the battery. touch the wires to the positive and negative posts on the speaker. if the cone moves out ward the positive and negative are correct if it moves inward then the positive and negative are reversed (out of phase.) this simple test will allow you to see which terminal is which. take the speaker out and run 2 wires from the speaker one on positive side and one on the negative side the use a 9volt battery and touch one wire to each side the speaker should make a popping sound moving either up or down depending on which wire you have where. if you touch the positive wire on the positive side of the battery it should move out and if reverse should move in. if it does not do anything the speaker is blown.
Large side is negative
Negative side
they do because like magnets we have negative and positive ,negative and negative repel and vise verse but positive and negative attract
" Anode " is generally refer to POSITIVE. Cathode generally refer to NEGATIVE. But these terms are use for different applications ( For example: you wouldn't refer to the POSITIVE side of a battery as ANODE or NEGATIVE side as CATHODE, it commonly refer as positive or negative when you are dealing with battery application etc. )
The positive
There is no positive and negative conductor. There are just two ends of a conductor, namely positive and negative. It is usually said that electricity flows from the positive to the negative side of a conductor, but scientists have discovered, that current consists of electrons that always flows from the negative to the positive side.
Both. Positive charge comes from the positive sids (+) and negative charge comes from the negative side (-)
Pros are for the negative side since it is against the fact of something.
The side of the plug with the ground wire is or should be the negative and the side with just the center screws is the positive.
Negative will be attracted to positive.
