They are close to extinction in most parts of china mountains. South china tigers are extremely rare since there are too many chinese hunters in the 1600s to 1700s that almost hunted them out. Habitat and climate changes and high population today are also one of the blames to their close extinction.

So there is more than a 50 percent chance that a Chinese tiger will go extinct
