Aside from being hunted as food by some natives, the spider monkeys are threatened with extreme loss of habitat by human development that clears or harvests the rain forest.
it is because they act like spiders in a way other than a monkey
No, Spider-Man is not related to Venom in any way.
As far as the "black-handed" part of the name is concerned, they were named that way because they have black hands. The "spider" part of their name comes from their incredibly long limbs and tail. They are rather reminiscent of a spider.
i think it is from polution
Some spider monkeys eat insects, but not spiders. Their name comes from the way they look and move. With their long, furry, spindly limbs and tails, they look like spiders moving through the trees and vines of the rainforest.
A scorpion is larger and build differently than a spider. These are not related to each other in any way and have different functions.
Well I don't know, any way who cares, not me, I hate Spider man! its wierd
A lot of things can hurt a monkey. If you break any monkey's bones, it will hurt it. If someone tries to shoot it or stab it, it will hurt it. Why would anyone try to hurt a precious, harmless, intelligent, smart, and a sensitive animal anyway?! Other things that can hurt a monkey is if it drinks alcohol, or any other bad chemicals. So, yes, things can hurt a monkey.
Monkeys do not have much in the way of defense. Normally they run away, or scream from the treetops, or throws sticks at the predator to scare it away. This is not usually effective. They can defend themselves from other monkeys, or small reptiles. But their predators are large birds, snakes, and jaguars, who are among the highest in the food chain of the rain forest.
Spider monkeys are primates, not spiders, and definitely not cannibals. They are herbivorous, but with some species also eating insects. A female spider monkey normally has only one baby, or a maximum of two, about every 2 to 4 years. Adult male monkeys do not contribute much in the way of child care, but neither do they seek to harm the younger ones in their community.
Well, I had a BrownWoolly when I was a kid. "Sammy" was his name. They have molar type teeth "not sharp pointed teeth". Not very likely to bite as a defence. Unlike a spider monkey. They like to blast you with diareah "you will let them go" and climb up a tree if they get mad at you. They love about any type of juicy fruit. Crazy about grapes, strawberries, raisins, bananas, apples, oranges, etc. Maybe why he had diareah all the time. Love to ride on bicycle handle bars and play. Get real mad when you put them back in cage. Will unscrew a light bulb and throw it at you if you don't let them out to play. Very smart and learn way to fast. Friendly and sociable but like a hyper kid on steroids Not as bad as a spider monkey or cupichone "organ grinder monkey though. Sammy was young and about half grown. There is no better monkey as a pet but they get very strong and pretty big as they grow older. I just don't recommend any monkey as a pet unless you want your world to really rock! Sammy moved to the St. Louise zoo when he got older. Sure miss him.
yes of course! I mean, everything in the world is gonna be threatened and demolished at some point! Global warming is the main problem for the poor little darling......
