When a volcano erupts it is called lava, and this is why they are the same. The Earth has plates, plates have many layers like an onion. Plates move a lot , sometimes we can feel the plates in an a earthquake. That's when plates bump together and volcanoes start to occur. They are many volcanoes , when you look in a map you could see a row , chain of volcanoes. That would be called a " Ring of Fire." They are not that close how it appears they are some few miles away. The Ring of fire are mostly found by the Pacific Ocean.
