No, the sun is actually slowly losing heat. Solar flares on the surface of the sun are caused by explosions of hydrogen which can't go on for ever. It is still expected to last for billions of years.

Global warming is being caused by the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. More gases retain more of the sun's heat and this is causing global warming.

How are humans coursing global warming?

Well everything we do, factories, cars, electricity, produces CO2 which is building up in the atmosphere capturing infrared rays from the sun. This is causing global warming.

How is the atmosphere related to global warming?

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere catch and hold the sun's heat. These gases are building up as we burn fossil fuels. The more gas there is the warmer it gets. This is causing global warming.

What could be an introduction for my speech on global warming?

A:Global warming is a very big issue in the world today. Global warming is when the earth's temperature rises. The cause of global warming is when greenhouse gases trap heat and light from the sun [in the atmosphere of the earth] causing the earth to heat up. Global warming affects animals and our environment, such as rise in sea levels which will cause extinction for more than a thousand species.

Is greenhouse effect is the other name of global warming?

Strictly speaking there is no other name for global warming."The whole earth heating up" might be another name.Global warming is causing climate change, so many people think they are both the same, so they say:"Climate change is another name for global warming", but they are not really the same.

How great is the contribution of the sun to global warming?

All energy on earth comes originally from the sun. But the earth's energy budget would remain balanced, with no global warming, if the build-up of greenhouse gases was not stopping heat escaping to space. So the sun contributes the heat, just as normal, but our extra greenhouse gases capture more of this heat.Over the past few decades of global warming, the sun and the earth's temperature have actually been going in opposite directions. The sun has been cooling slightly. And the earth has been warming. This has led scientists to conclude that the sun is not responsible for the recent rise in global temperature. One of the common myths about global warming is that the sun is causing the increased warming. But don't be fooled! The myth cherry-picks the data. It uses past periods when the sun and climate moved together, and it ignores the last few decades where they are going in opposite directions.Global warming is not happening because of the sun, but because of the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) and deforestation (cutting down trees which previously removed carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere). These extra greenhouse gases are causing global warming.

How has the sun been affected so far by global warming and climate change?

No, the sun does not move, and the rays are not changing. The sun merely provides heat, not causing global warming. The thinning ozone and greenhouse gases trap the heat and cause global warming. The sun IS causing global warming, but only indirectly. Excessive amounts of carbon dioxide produced by humans, burning fossil fuels, etc are released into the atmosphere and once there, they trap heat from sunlight, keeping it here, instead of releasing it back into space, and thus, raising the temperature of the earth. So, yes it is, but indirectly. Also sunspots can increase the temperature but only while they are active which happens once every 11 years in a cycle.

These extra greenhouse gases are causing global warming. The Sun is the source of our heat on Earth. The sun hasn't changed, it is emitting virtually the same amount of sunlight as it has done throughout human history (there is an extremely tiny increase that does not affect global warming). It is the Earth's atmosphere that has changed, because of increased amounts of greenhouse gases.

What could be used to test global warming?

There is no need to test Global Warming, it has already been proved. We have seen the effects of it from the flooding in several areas, and, most notably, the recent cyclone in Burma, which scientists are linking up to Global Warming, the rising sea levels causing the storm.

Is global warming caused by sun volcanoes or petrol?

Petrol. When you burn it you release carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas from millions of years ago. This is building up in the atmosphere where it captures more of the sun's heat (so the sun has to be there too!) and causes global warming.

Is the earth warming up because of people or because of global warming?

because of global warming. the atmosphere is being destroyed. thus the Sun's rays are melting the ice. the ice at the poles is what keeps the planet from overheating. without it we will all cook.

Why did the environment end up the way it did in the movie wall-e?

Global warming and the humans abandoned it because of global warming. Global warming

What is the geenhousee effect?

its when greenhouse gases build up and these gases traps the sun's heat, resulting in global warming
