With heat pumps supply air temp will vary with outdoor temp. The colder it gets outside the less efficient the heat pump will be (colder supply air).
There is still enough heat in the air to run your heat pump when the temp is in the 30,s
An ouside air temp changeover thermostat. lc
No set temp for heat pump, the colder it is outside the colder the supply temp. Until the supplemental heat kicks in. If you are in Florida or a similar climate, you may not have supplemental heat. The problem is the unit is operating below it`s design condition for the area and you`ll just have to wait for it to warm up outside.
Florida Cooling and Supply
If you want to heat your pool you first have to turn on the pump because nothing works without the pump running. You will not get filtration, circulation or heat. Turn on the pump set the thermostat to desired temp range. If you are starting with a water temp of about 55 degrees more or less, you will want to run the pump non stop until you achieve a temp near your desired goal. -- Quicker recovery time with this method is achieved rather than running the pump a few hours then shutting it down until the next day etc. k
I don't know of to many cons about owning a heat pump. Pro's: lower heating bills acts as an air conditioner in the summer Below 30*F outdoor temp they are worthless.
