no , that would depend whether you have 2 wheel drive or the control trac 4x4
system with the V6 , or the 2 wheel drive or all wheel drive with the V8
The transmissions from 1991 - 1994 are the same. So the 1991 transmission will not fit a 1996 explorer.
As far as I know , just the 1995 and 1996 Ford Explorer used the same automatic transmission on the 4.0 L - OHV - V6
If they are both the same motor maybe check length
The shift motor on my 1996 Ford Explorer is located at the end of the transmission, around 1/2 way back on the left side of the under carriage. May be in the same spot for 02 models.
I was looking at one of the Ford websites , and for a 1996 Ford Explorer 4.0 litre V6 : It lists two different part numbers for a starter depending on whether it is an automatic or manual transmission
The transmissions from 1991 - 1994 Ford Explorers are the same. So the 1995 transmission is different.
The transfer case makes it 4x4 not the transmission. As long as the trannys are the same should work
Yes if they both use the same transmission. GM installs the same transmission in many different models. For instance the GMC & Chevrolet pickup have the exact same transmission if they are equipped with the same engine.
are you talking about interior, exterior , or mechanics?
A 1996 or 1997 Dodge caravan or Plymouth Voyager with the same engine size will have the same transmission.A 1996 or 1997 Dodge caravan or Plymouth Voyager with the same engine size will have the same transmission.
I think it is. The models are built on the same platform.
The transmission is the same
