As far as I know , just the 1995 and 1996 Ford Explorer used the same automatic transmission on the 4.0 L - OHV - V6
need to know where transmission plug is for a 2002 ford explorer?
If this is an AUTOMATIC transmission ( NO ) * starting with the 1995 model year of the Ford Explorer , the automatic transmission was electronically controlled ( I don't know about the 5 speed manual transmission )
i don't know the answer
he wanted to be an explorer because he thaught it was cool because i know that because im in fith grade.
Starting with the 2002 Ford Explorer ( 4 door ) there isn't an automatic transmission fluid dipstick that allows you to refill the transmission . The Ford dealer has a way of checking the transmission fluid level from underneath the vehicle , I couldn't find anything in the 2002 Ford Explorer maintenance schedule so I would ask a Ford dealer . I know that on my 1995 Ford Explorer I've had the dealer use a machine a couple of times that pumps in new transmission fluid through the transmission cooler lines as the old fluid is pumped out
Hey. I don't know exactly, but I think, that the 1995 Explorer belongs to second generation of Explorers. So, it is probably not compatible. Paul Hey. I don't know exactly, but I think, that the 1995 Explorer belongs to second generation of Explorers. So, it is probably not compatible. Paul
Christopher Columbus was cerainly not inspired to be an explorer by his father but in 1476 he sailed on his first expedition so that might have inspired him to become a real explorer.
As far as I know , 2002 and newer 4 door Explorers don't have a transmission dipstick . Ford has a way of checking from under the vehicle = Helpfull
I don't know but I'm still driving my 1995 Ford Explorer going on 16 years now
No, they are different. They do use the same console shifter though. I know that's not what you wanted to hear. Sorry.
The 2004 Mercury Mountaineer does not have an automatic transmission fluid dipstick . I know that the 2002 and newer Ford Explorer four door versions do not have a dipstick for the automatic transmission fluid level .
It really should be changed every 30,000 miles. It is cheaper than a transmission overhaul.
