Is the twin towers a separate building from the WTC or is it part of the WTC?

They are identical.
(Edit: The twin towers were two buildings: WTC 1 and WTC 2. The World Trade Center was actually a complex of buildings, rather than simply one. I believe there were seven buildings that were a part of the complex, but none of them were quite as prominent as the twin towers. )
