I think a person having respect for him self and for others can not even think to have group sex. I doubt that it's either or. Group sex is a way to statify every urge. Haveing mulitipul people around you haveing sex, and being able to find someone that makes you feel the best, is what you get out of Group sex. There is nothing wrong with it. It's a natural human action, don't think anything of it, and if your lucky to be invovled in it, then your are one of the lucky few. I wouldn't brush the question off so easily. I am somewhat involved with a guy I am really starting to believe is a true narcissist, and he is always interested in having orgies. Hmmm ... Many, many people have fantasies about group sex, and some go a step further and actuallly indulge. The notion that this indicates any kind of mental disorder is strange. What's more, after a divorce, some people like to enjoy sex again and simply enjoy things that couldn't really do while married. Please always be very careful about labelling or diagnosing a person, and it certainly can't do done on the basis of just one trait of one kind of behaviour. There are various lists of typical personality traits of NPD. Most lists have 9-10 traits and add that a person should only be regarded as one who suffers from NPD if at least 5 (yes, five) of the criteria are met. I dated a narcissist and she brought up the idea of having group sex, then she didn't, then she did, then she didn't, and so on. We never did indulge in that together. I would agree with the contributer above that you can't label a person a narcissist if they suggest group sex. I think it's a fairly common fantasy.
