Simply Put No. The name Jehovah is the accepted English translation of the name Yaweh which is the closest known pronuciation of the Divine name. And as we know in the lords prayer, Jesus first prays "our father in the heavens Hallowed be thy name", it would be impossible to do this without using it. The Name Jehovah is rejecyed by some who prefer to use Yaweh, Yaweh is an acceptable form of the divine name however Jehovah is the English tanslation, much like Jesus is the translation of Yeshua.

Quoting a extract from w08 7/1 24-25:

When it comes to some later events in the Biblical record, the ruins at Tel Arad offer some interesting support. For example, archaeologists have found a sequence of fortifications. Some of these may well date from the reign of King Solomon, who was known for his extensive city construction projects....It is of great interest that many of the about 200 ostraca recovered bear Hebrew names that are also found in The Bible...some of these secular documents are of even greater interest because they include God's personal name. Composed of four Hebrew letters יהוה (YHWH)-often called the Tetragrammaton-this proper name is unique to Almighty God. Later, superstition led many to believe that pronouncing or writing God's name is sacrilegious. However, the findings at Tel Arad, like many others, confirm that in Bible times God's name was freely used in daily life, in greetings, and in blessings. For instance, one inscription reads: "To my lord Elyashib. May Yahweh [Jehovah] concern himself with your well-being. . . . He is staying in the temple of Yahweh."

By saying ''lord behold'' is that using god's name in vain?

No, it wouldn't be. Psalms 83:18 That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth.By saying lord, it can mean many things. Only by using the name Jehovah would that be taking God's name in vain.

What is the Egyptian name for Jehovah?

Ihuh is the Egyptian name for Jehovah. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Jehovah" is not even the name for god. It is a German attempt at pronouncing the Tetragrammaton in the Masoretic Hebrew scripture, however the Masoretic scribes intentionally placed the vowel points of the Hebrew word "Elohim" on the Tetragrammaton consonants instead of the correct ones (which are unknown as Jews will not pronounce it) to avoid the risk of accidentally "taking the name of god in vain" while reading the Hebrew scripture. When pronounced with these incorrect vowels the Tetragrammaton simply becomes a nonsense word.

Is 'oh my gosh' the same as taking the Lord's name in vain?

If one is consciously using "gosh" as a slang for "Jehovah" or "God", then yes. However, if one is using the sound "gosh" as a substitute, because one loves God so much that one doesn't wish to take his name in vain, than no. Only you and Jehovah know your heart. So if one is concerned about that kind of thing, one should be careful. (And if one is underaged, one should respect their parent's wishes in this matter until they are old enough to decide for themselves in their own home.)

Why did they take god name out of the bible?

When the scribes were translating the Bible some came to think that by possibly mispronouncing God's name they were taking it in vain so they started to take it out. These days churches take out God's name (Jehovah) because it is part of knowing the truth about God. "The world is lying in the power of the wicked one"1 John 5:19 and wants anything but the truth of God to be known. Jehovah has promised amazing things for humans. It's in the Bible.

What is Jehovah Lutheran?

There is no such thing. A wittness is only a witness, they do not mix religons. The Old Testament names Yahweh and Elohim are sometimes combined to form Jehovah as a sign of respect, because God's name is too precious to be used lightly. Many Church names and hymns will contain Jehovah in titles or lyrics. This falls in line with not using the LORD's name in vain for many people and congregational members. This use of Jehovah isn't to be confused with the theology of a Jehovah's Witness.
