The positive speaker wire is a solid color, your negative wire should have a stripe on it.
Red is usually positive and Black negative. Make sure you do not get this backwards. I recommend 0/1 or 0/2 AWG (Guage) Wire
It will be the wire without the black line on it. Usualy the black line on a solid color will mean negative (-)

BLACK = Negative (-) Earth RED = 12V Power via Ingition YELLOW = 12V Power direct from battery BLUE = Antenna REM BLUE/WHITE = Amp REM WHITE = Front left speaker Positive (+) WHITE/BLACK = Front left speaker Negative (-) GREY = Front right speaker Positive (+) GREY/BLACK = Front right speaker Negative (-) GREEN = Back left speaker Positive (+) GREEN/BLACK = Back left speaker Negative (-) PURPLE = Back right speaker Positive (+) PURPLE/BLACK = Back right speaker Negative (-) Hope this helps Snowy
The left speaker wire (+) is dark green, and the left speaker wire (-) is brown/red in the door of a 1997 Dodge Ram. For the right speaker, the right speaker wire (+) is purple, and the right speaker wire (-) is dark blue/red.
red is negative :( green is positive:)
Black is negative and Red is positive.
One way to know is to hook them up and if you see if the speaker cone moves inward on a bass note. If so, you have the + & - reversed. If the positive and negative is not marked on the speaker, connect a 9 volt battery quickly to the speaker. The cone will move outward when you have the + & - connected correctly. It will be either gray, or gray with a white or black tracer.
Black is negative, red is positive - if you've got something where your options are color and white, the white is your negative.
