Height would probably be the Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) or an Irish Deerhound. Weight is the English Mastiff (including one at 328 lbs).

The heaviest dog/canine is the Old English Mastiff (correct name Mastiff, but commonley still called English Mastiff or Old English Mastiff ). This is the world record holder for the heaviest dog and is the heaviest dog according to the breed standard (but other large breeds could out-weigh a small Mastiff!!

The current world record for the tallest dog is held by a Great Dane, at 42.2 or 107cm at the shoulder, that's 7 ft tall when he's stood on his hind legs. Even at this height he is 170lb in weight, which is less than your average male Mastiff.

But, (not including the record holder) according to breed standards the Irish Wolfhound is the tallest dog.

The SCOTTISH Deerhound or Russian Wolfhound arn't as tall as Irish wolfhound.

No domestic dog ( wethher its the Irish wolfhound/deerhound, Old English mastiff or great dane) is larger than the Largest timber wolf. This wolf was 7'11 tall on its hind legs and 8'9 from nose to tail also 43.5 inches at the shoulder, no dog has ever been recored that large.
