The word "remarriage" is not found in the Bible. Although in the days of Moses divorce was permitted by decree, Jesus remarked that God intended marriage to last as long as a husband and wife live. If someone is divorced they are not to marry someone else, as that is considered the same as adultery. Widows are free to marry anyone as long as that person is not married.

The specific word "remarriage" is not used in The Bible. However, the concept of divorce and marrying again is mentioned in various passages. In the New Testament, Jesus speaks against divorce except for cases of adultery, and Paul discusses the topic in his letters, stating that if a Christian spouse is abandoned by an unbelieving partner, they are free to marry again.
