This was one of the things I was curious about when purchasing my new slim Xbox 360. You may know that with the older versions of the Xbox 360, it included a code inside the box which gave you a months free free trial of Xbox LIVE. However, this has changed with the newer slim consoles, including ones with Kinect. You are not given a code within the box, instead you are offered a one months free trial when creating an Xbox LIVE account on your new console. So, if you already have an Xbox LIVE account, you will not be given free Xbox Live when purchasing a Xbox 360 Slim. To get a free trial you will have to create a new account on your console, were it will be offered to you after declining a payment for Xbox LIVE gold membership.
